About Us

Since 1988, the Christie Antique & Vintage Show has been attracting dealers and buyers from across Canada and the United States. In its over 30 year history, the show has grown to be Canada’s largest and most favourite antique show.

Although, Christie Lake Conservation Area played host to the show since its inception, the Hamilton Conservation Authority did not acquire the show until 2010. Since then, the show has continued to thrive and sees roughly 10,000 shoppers each spring and fall.

In 2014, the show began to transition from the Christie Antique Show, to the Christie Antique & Vintage Show. The change in name, is to recognize the important role vintage items have played and will continue to play at the show and within the industry.

Hundreds of Canada’s top antique and vintage dealers display and sell an unparalleled variety of treasures. With 10 acres of items waiting to be discovered, there are pieces to please both the novice and the most experienced collector. Furniture, architectural antiques, stoneware, Vintage clothing, folk art, rugs, jewelry, sports memorabilia, scientific instruments, textiles, cut glass and more! If you can imagine it, you can find it in one of the 1,200 collecting categories featured at the show!

The Christie Antique & Vintage Show takes place twice annually, on the Saturday after Victoria Day in the spring, and the Saturday after Labour Day in the fall.

Announcement from the Christie Antique & Vintage Show

Following the closure of the Christie Antique & Vintage Show for the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hamilton Conservation Authority (HCA) undertook an operational review of the show and our conservation area experiences.

Our analysis shows costs are increasing, while attendance is very much dependent on weather for this outdoor show. More importantly, over the past two years HCA has seen an unprecedented surge of public interest in enjoying our conservation areas. HCA memberships grew from 6,000 in 2019 to over 12,000 in 2021, and daily visitation numbers are also up across our properties. At Christie Lake Conservation Area, people enjoy beach time, boating, hiking, biking and picnicking. Closing off the park to some of those activities in order to prepare and host large events, like the Christie Show, is simply now too hard to justify.

As a result, HCA has made the difficult but necessary decision to cease operating all future Christie Antique & Vintage Shows.

HCA will still welcome smaller third-party events, ensuring we are always providing the access to the natural areas and recreation our visitors are expecting, at this new and unprecedented level.

The Hamilton Conservation Authority thanks all of our dealers, vendors, suppliers, patrons, staff and everyone else involved with putting on the show for more than 30 years. We had an incredible run and wish everyone all the best in the future.
